Honky Tonk women is a song about prostitutes. The lyrics are, in true Stones style, very suggestive but just "clean" enough to not be banned from radio play. The famous riff as seen in these Honky Tonk women guitar tabs is great fun to play and is madatory knowledge for any rock guitarist. Use the tabs below to master it.
This is Mick Taylors first appearance on a Rolling Stones recording. The famous riff is played by Richards but Taylor claims he came up with it. Due to drug abuse the band fired guitarist and early leader Brian Jones after recording the song. Jones was found dead in his swiming pool the same day that the Honky Tonk Women tabs single was released, July 3, 1969.
