Song: Crazy Train Album: Blizzard of Ozz Artist: Ozzy Osbourne Bassist: Bob Daisley or Robert Trujillo This a great and relatively straight-forward piece. Its the best Ozzy song ever, but that's beside the point. There is one part that I know I don't have right, so please E-Mail me witht the correction. Standard Tuning Intro: --------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- ---------------------------5-5------------- 2-2---5-5--0-0--2-2--------0-0--2-2 <---------4X---------->
At the end of the fourth play: ----------- ----------- -----5---- 2-2----0 Verse: ----------------------------------- --------------7-7-7-7-7-4----- ------------------------------7-4 5-5-5-5-5---------------------- <-------10X-------> Interlude1: ---------------------------------- ---------------------------------- ---------------------------------- 2-0-2--4-5--0-2-4-5-4-2-0 <------2X-------? Chorus:part 1 [ ] That's the section I know is wrong. --------------------------------------------- -----------------------7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7- --------------------------------------------- 5--5-4-2-0--2-4---5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5- <----------1X------------> Chorus: part 2 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5--5-4-2-0--2-4--2-0-2-2-4-5-4-2-0-2-4--2-0-2-2-4-5-0-- <------------------1X--------------------> Interlude2: Intro riff done 2 times with ending Solo: //=Tremelo (play repeatedly as quickly as possible) -------------------------------- 4//----------------------------- -----7-5//-4------------------ ----------------7//-5//-0-5-0 <-------4X------> Outro: Intro done to fade (ending may be added to end song live) The order of these parts is somewhat confusing, but here goes: Intro Verse Interlude1 Chorus parts 1 and 2 Verse Interlude1 Chorus parts 1 and 2 Interlude2 Solo Interlude2 Verse Interlude1 Chorus parts 1 and 2 Outro This song is great fun and all of the bassists that have played live with Ozzy experiment with this song, adding flares here and there, so mess around with it. If you have any comments or a solution to my problem at the chorus, E-Mail me at Giza3@AOL.com. Enjoy!
Bob Daisley was the first bassist for Ozzy Osbournes and was a co-writer on this song which was released in 1980. He was also the credited for the backing vocals and co-production. See the Bass tabs for Crazy train here. The song is usually played fingerstyle, but does sound good with a pick as well.
Daisley later sued Ozzy, his management and record company because he didn’t get the royalties he wanted. To make a long story short Ozzy deleted the original basstrack from the album and recorded it again using Rob Trujillo who is now in Metallica. If you have a CD or recording which is newer than 2002 it is Rob playing. The two different basstracks are identical so you can still use these Ozzy Osbourne Crazy train bass tabs when learning the song.
