Tabbed by: Jason James Email:japhyjames@aol.com Tuning: DADGBE capo 5th fret The real trick to playing this (and a lot of John’s song from this period)is to slap the guitar percussively on the 2nd and 4th beat without disturbing the notes that are ringing out and knowing when to use the slap to stop the notes dead. It takes practice but once its mastered, the feel of john’s style falls into place and becomes more of a habit than an exercise. It’s also worth noting that the subtlety is of this song is in the studio mixing, in reality John plays each note, especially hammer-on and pull-offs very clearly with force. e|------------------x-----------x-----------x-----------x-----0-----x----- B|------------0--1h-x--1-----1--x--01h0p-0--x--0-1h-/3--x--3-----3--x---- G|------------0-----x--0-----0--x--0--0--0--x--0--------x-----------x---- D|------------0--2h-x--2-----2--x--2--0--0--x--0--------x-----------x---- A|--0--2h--3h---0---x-----0-----x-----------x-----------x-----------x---- D|------------------x-----------x-----3---3-x--3----/5--x--5--------x--
