This was the second hit single for the band and is today the most played song by Lynyrd Skynyrd. These Sweet home Alabama guitar tabs are for the original version released in 1974. Band member Ed King got the song in a dream and soon after showed it to the band who liked it a lot.
The guitar you can hear on the track was an old 1972 Fender Stratocaster. It was poor at the time so they had to turn up the volume at max to get the sound from it. The Fender is now on museum.
