NOTES:

This piece really consists of only a couple parts, although I've tabbed it
out with some of the variations. It was loosely transcribed from the
recordings mentioned above, although I intentionally left out some of Leo's
timing weirdnesses from Part 4. It's not difficult to play, but the slide
technique will determine whether it sounds like a haunting melody, or a car
accident.

Most of the slides up and down are more complex than can be tabbed
explicitly (as in first part of line 2). Listen to the recording to get the
feel of the slide voice. And as usual, no timing is shown, although I try to
space things out in a semi-meaningful manner.

If you play this with a slide, damping with both right and left hands is
necessary to keep things under control. For most single string slide notes I
rest the left hand first finger lightly (slide is on pinky) on the string
behind the slide to dampen it. For slide chords, the LH 1st finger is
straight and dampens all strings right behind the slide. It's easier said
than done, but try to land the LH damping finger on the strings just before
the slide touches, and conversely, remove the slide from the strings just
before lifting the damping finger. This technique is easier with heavy
strings/high action, but it comes with practice.

In some cases right hand damping is better, as in lines 18 and 19 (note the
dots). The chords are played, and just before going to the 1st string
melody, the RH thumb silently drops on all the strings to kill the chord.
Your technique will no doubt vary.

If you are into the acoustic pickup/amplification stuff, try playing this
song with a fair amount of compression and some long-delay reverb (like a
large hall effect). A dominant magnetic pickup, with some ambient added
seems to sound good. The compression will do wonders for sustaining the long
slide notes, and will help kill some of the scarier effects of
slide-hitting-string.

If playing slide scares your cat/dog/spouse (you know who you are), try
playing without it. It's a great tune either way.

Comments and corrections are always welcome.
