Instrumental:

Listen for rhythm, but it helps to know that the kick hits on the last note of each
arpeggio in the intro.
(so you should be hitting the d string in time with the kick).

Chords:

This progression is repeated through the entirety of the song. Even though there are
only two chords, it
sounds better if you play it with different voicings to give the feeling of going up.

Intro:
Note: The only difference between the intro and the section 1 part is that the first
arpeggio is played once
more in section 1 to fit the beat. The intro still sounds right since the drums don't
kick in until the
verse. Having said that, I don't know if it's just the version I have or if Jamie
actually intended it.

Bassline:
There are a heap of variations on the basslines throughout the song. Here are the ones I
could identify that
are playable on a standard guitar/bass. If you had to play it exactly like the original
you'd need to some
hectic low strings since he goes into really low octaves.
Either way you should mix it up because I'm almost certain that the bass is actually
never repeated. Every
bar is ever so slightly different....

Section 2.1:
starts at 00:50

Lead steel drum type sound
e|---------------------------------------------------9--9-----9-----9-----8-8-------------------------|

G|17----17----17----15-15-13-13----13----13----12-12-10-10----10----10----8-8-10-10----10----10----10-|

While the steel drum plays the guitar plays a faint delayed note on repeat

Section 2.2:
starts at 01:40 after the sick pause
Marimba/glock thing
e|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|13-13-13-13-13-13-13-11-13-13-13-13-13-13-13-11-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-8-6-6-6-6-6-6-8-9-|
G|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Guitar solo (kinda):
I don't know if he's using a delay effect or the guitar is actually playing every note
but for the sake of not
spamming the tab with one note for ages I've just showed the basic gist.

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-11-11-11-11b11.5-11-11b12------ slowly bend up towards 13 ----------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
(Note: he doesn't actually get to 13 on the B string until he plays the next part)

e|-13----------13------------13----------------------------------------------|
B|--13---x7-----13---x4-------13---x3--------------9----11b12b11---9----9----|
G|---15----------13------------10-------------/10----------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

e|--9------------------------------------------------11---------------------------------|
B|---9--------------------9----11----11b12b11----------11-9----11b12b11---------11---9--|
G|----10------------/10-----------------------------------------------------10----------|
D|-----11-------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

e|-13----------11------------11-----------13-|
B|--13---x7-----11---x4-------11---x4----9---|
G|---15----------13------------10-------10---|
D|-------------------------------------------|
A|-------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------|

For the remainder of the song he alternates between the following arpeggios. I think he
might change a couple
more notes than just the high e but it's difficult to hear since the guitar is low pass
filtered out of the
mix for a while in this section.

e|------13--------------------------------------11-----|
B|-----9-------------alternate with-----------9--------|
G|---10-------------------------------------10---------|
D|-----------------------------------------------------|
A|-----------------------------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------------------------|

finally the guitar ends with this

e|--9---8-8----------------------------------------------------|
B|---------9-------------13-------13-11--------------11--------|
G|----------10---------------13--------------12--13------13----|
D|-------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------------------------|

Outro:
At the end the horns/pad sound harmonises the root by just sorta shuffling over the Db chord.
You can achieve a similar thing on guitar by playing the following chords.

   Db Db2: Dbsus2 Db3:

e| 1 4 4 8
B| 2 6 4 9
G| 1 6 6 8
D| 3 6 6 6
A| 4 4 4 x
E| x x x x
