I was surprised to find that one of the most popular Ben Harper songs was not tabbed yet. This is my first tab, so please send any suggestions or comments to zwphatbax@yahoo.com. Thank you. Ben Harper Steal my Kisses Tabbed by Zach "the mac" Winningham and this is my own work. Verse Chords used: (standard tuning...from left to right: EADGBe) G: 3 5 5 4 3 3 C6: X 3 5 5 5 5 D6: X 5 7 7 7 7
Basically, the verses are this progression....G, C6, D6, then back to G and start over again. The strumming pattern you will have to get down for youself. It is very simple however. The Bridge: (again, standard tuning...from left to right EADGBe) Chords used: F: 1 3 3 2 X X G: 3 5 5 4 X X F# : 2 4 4 3 X X Basically, the first time through, it starts on the F bar chord and slides first to the G bar chord, then to the F# bar chord. Then next three times through this bridge riff, it slides from the F bar chord to the G bar chord like the fist time, but then it slides back down to the F bar chord again. However, on your way sliding from the G back down to the F, you have to also briefly hit the F# bar chord again, but it is very quick. So instead of sliding right to the F chord, just keep your fingers pressed down in that barred position and slide down to the F, hitting the F# along the way. Once you get this down, something cool you can do with the bridge (on acoustic) is after the last strum of the bridge, you can slide up on the 6th string and hammer on from the 10th to the 12th fret and then slide down to the 3rd fret and start the G chord progression that is played for the verses. This is what the bass player does in the song, but it can also be done on acoustic and is very cool. There is also a very nice bass solo at the end and throughout the song that i know, but can't tab bc i don't know how. I'm doing this one on email, but I'm not aware of how to make a tab with the lines or i would tab the bass to this song, bc it is incredible. feel free to email me and tell me how. Have mercy on me this is my first tab!
