Band: Coldplay Track: 'til Kingdom Come Album: X&Y Tuning: CACGCE (Low to High) Ahoy there me hearties! Here is a great little 'open' tuning number by Coldplay from their latest album X&Y. This particular tab version is in C6, as used by the master craftsman ("Sir" Jimmy Page) himself in one of his classic little acoustic pieces 'Bron-Yr-Aur' from the 1975 album Physical Graffiti. They don't call me Monsieur Pop Quiz for nothing. Basically, all you have to do is tune your bass E down to a C, your D down to a C and your B up to a C. You can leave the
rest of the strings as they are - providing they are in tune of course! Hey hey! Start with the C chord and let it RING out BIG time. Use a pick or your strumming fingers, and get into the rhythm. With such simple great tuning, you can't go wrong here - it sounds really great and meaty, and you can impress all your friends (but not your neighbours)! 'Til Kingdom Come was, according to Chris Martin, down to his religious upbringing and a hymn he used to sing as a child. The song was originally written for Johnny Cash, and the plan was that Coldplay and Cash would perform it together. Alas, Cash died before the event could take place. The song was released as a hidden track on Coldplay's third studio album "X&Y". Use these guitar tabs to master the Coldplay sound.
